Electronic Payments Coalition Named a National Sponsor of The Great American Road Trip

(Washington, DC – February 10, 2026) The Great American Road Trip today announced the Electronic Payments Coalition as a national sponsor, further strengthening the initiative’s efforts to celebrate America’s 250th birthday by highlighting the systems and infrastructure that support travel, commerce, small businesses and everyday life across the country.

The Electronic Payments Coalition represents the credit unions, community banks, payment card networks, national financial institutions, and stakeholders committed to secure, reliable, and accessible electronic payment systems. Its sponsorship underscores a shared focus on the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that enables consumers and businesses to connect, transact, and thrive, whether on the open road or in local communities nationwide.

Launched in September 2025, The Great American Road Trip showcases America’s people, destinations, and brands through curated itineraries, national event stops, and digital storytelling. The initiative encourages Americans to get out on the road, rediscover the country, and engage with the communities and experiences that unite the nation as it approaches its 250th birthday.

“Travel and exploration depend on more than roads and destinations; they rely on the trusted systems that allow people to move, transact, and participate in local economies,” said Tori Barnes, Executive Director of The Great American Road Trip. “The Electronic Payments Coalition plays an important role in supporting those connections, and we are pleased to welcome them as a national sponsor as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday.”

As a national sponsor, the Electronic Payments Coalition will be featured across select Road Trip stops, storytelling initiatives, and co-branded activations that highlight the role of secure and accessible payment systems in supporting travel, small businesses, and communities across the country. These efforts will be amplified through digital distribution to reach audiences nationwide.

“The Great American Road Trip is an invitation for families across the country to travel, explore, and celebrate our great nation,” said Electronic Payments Coalition Executive Chairman Richard Hunt. “Credit cards and credit card rewards help make those journeys possible through cashback programs, savings at the pump, complimentary hotel stays, and airline miles. Beyond supporting travelers, these rewards strengthen tourism in local communities and drive meaningful economic growth amounting to hundreds of billions of dollars.”

As America’s 250th birthday approaches, The Great American Road Trip is helping inspire travelers to get back on the road and rediscover the places and shared experiences that bind our country together.
